Poultry farms: how do I set a vaccination protocol and follow its calendar?

A vaccination two days late can cost you a whole flock, which is why the schedule is written once and then applied to every flock.

Protocols

  1. Open Poultry Farms → Vaccination ProtocolsFigure 1.
  2. Add a protocol with its name (broiler, layer…), then add its items: the vaccine, the age in days at which it is given, and the route.
  3. The protocol is written once and reused for every new flock.

The calendar

  1. Open Vaccination CalendarFigure 2.
  2. From each flock’s placement date the due date of every vaccination is computed and shown on the calendar.
  3. When it is carried out, record the actual vaccination under Vaccinations with the date, the vaccine and who administered it.

Notes

  • The calendar is a plan, not a record; do not treat a vaccination as done until it is recorded.
  • Check the calendar every morning; it is the least you can do to protect the flock.
  • Do not change a protocol mid-cycle; create a new version and apply it to the next flock.
