Date palm farms: how do I record treatments and the harvest?

A palm season is a dated sequence of operations: pollination, then tying, then thinning, then bagging, then picking — and each one is time and cost.

Treatments

1. Open Palm Farms → Treatments — Figure 1 — and add a treatment.
2. Choose the season and the block or the specific trees, plus the treatment type and the date.
3. Enter the material used, the quantity, who carried it out and the cost.

Harvest

1. Open Harvest — Figure 2 — and record each picking with its date.
2. Choose the season and the block or tree, and enter the quantity in kilograms and the grade.
3. These figures roll up into the production volume report, which tells you the average yield per tree.

Notes

• Record the harvest at block level when the tree count is large; weighing per tree is not practical on a farm of a thousand palms.
• Treatments that consume materials from the store are also recorded under farm input consumption, so the cost appears once and correctly.
• The pollination date is the most important date of the season, so be precise about it.
