What does the travel agency dashboard show?

This is the first page you open each morning, and where you set off to the rest of the agency screens.

What it shows

• Four numbers: active trips, invoices, total revenue and total expenses — Figure 1.
• Recent invoices with the contact name, the trip, the paid and remaining amounts and the payment status.
• Quick links: add traveller, new invoice, travellers, services, packages, trips, payments, expenses and reports.

A suggested daily routine

1. Partially paid invoices for travellers whose departure is near.
2. Upcoming trips and how many seats are left on them.
3. Passports close to expiry in the travellers list.
4. Expenses not yet recorded.

Notes

• “Total revenue” is not profit; subtract total expenses before you celebrate.
• The dashboard numbers are only honest if payments and expenses are entered as they happen.
• In peak season open this page twice a day, not once.
